Round 2 saw Launceston take on South Launceston at NTCA no2. We won the toss and elected to bowl and it paid off as we bowled out South for 105. Esmier Ratcliffe was the choice of the bowlers with 3-20 off his 9 overs. Cody Townend continued his great form with the ball snaring 2-6 and Mark Shaw collected 2-19. All the bowlers put in a great effort in a really good team performance. The standout in the field was debutant Gourav Kamboj snaring 6 dismissals with the gloves in an outstanding display of keeping.
Chasing 106 for victory Launceston got off to a shaky start but Trent Dann(27) and Ryan Davis(11) settled in and turned the game back into our favour. Joshua Moore was another contributor with the bat also making 11 to round out the top scorers. At the end of the day Launceston made the runs in 26 overs to clinch a 3 wicket win. Well done to all players especially debutants Gourav Kamboj & Sam Cotton who contributed well to the result and showed some promise for good things in the weeks to come.
