T/20 Wrap
After a win and loss from last weekends 20/20 games, this week saw the team head to George Town for the early game. Bunts once again proved useless at the coin toss, so we were sent in and after 20 overs finished at 4/118 with young gun James Whiteley batting through the innings to make 50no(4 boundaries) with support from Adam Drinkwell with 43(2 huge sixes, 2 boundaries) from 35 balls. In reply, GT took it all the way to the last over and finished with 4/116. There were some nervous moments in the field but some tight bowling and excellent wicket keeping by Anton Balym saw the Lions home in a thriller.
A quick trip back up the river to the NTCA ground and Mowbray awaited for the afternoon game. Bowling first, the lions held Mowbray to 4/133 from 20 overs, young quick Ryan Lees once again impressing with his pace and control. However this score proved too much to handle with the Lions finishing at 5/107, Hayden Fenton's 37 from 44 balls being the top score.
So after 4 games in the 20/20 roster, we sit with 2 wins, 2 losses with a game against Riverside in a couple of weeks to come. This week we start the NTCA Roster with a trip to Riverside for a 1 day game.
