Dear Fans,
Bonjour! After a long layoff from international blogging, I, Dusty Traveler am back in town (so to speak). Having spent most of my holiday lying on beaches slurping on frosties (well orange juices mostly as I am an awful drinker) I have been starved of playing any form of sport. With plenty of hype surrounding Cadel’s trip to the corner shop for milk on the BMX, I thought I had better go and take a look at Le Tour de France, much to the disgust of the missus. Turns out, the shop is a fair way away and there are a few small hills in the way. Whilst we understood it was slightly bogan, the boys and I gave our footy jumpers a run on the big mountain stages in an attempt to get on TV. My 1993 woolen Allen Jakovich guernsey working beautifully in the cool mountain air. We hunted far and wide for filthy Phil Liggett just so we could hug him and reassure him that his dulcet tones send many a red blooded sports fan to sleep with a smile on their face back in Aus. We also searched for Paul Sherwin to talk red zone and the wattage output of Johnny Hoogerland after being run over by the TV car. However, we had to settle for Mike T and even that was from a distance. Hats off to the riders, especially our first winner Cadel, those mountains were steep enough to walk up let alone riding up them and I’m still not sure if he got his milk?. I’m not even sure the big drivers of Adam “Keg” Shepherd could have negotiated the sharp inclines some of the climbs presented. Anyway, hope pre-season is going well, I’m off to Croatia to do a spot of sailing and slam down some more orange juices. Em air?
